Frequently Asked Questions:

What is your style? Joma has a style that is very much our own. The majority of our style has a very photojournalistic feel to it – we prefer not to pose the moments that are told better with genuine smiles. As for the posed photography (featured with bride and groom coverage prior to the ceremony and formals afterward) we focus on beautiful use of light, conveying the joy of that day, and allowing your personalities to shine through the photographs. If we can avoid stuffy posed portraits on the church altar, we prefer it.

What’s it going to cost me? Our wedding packages start at $1,800. Every package includes two photographers, an engagement session, and a custom-designed album. However, packages can be custom suited to tailor your needs.

How long do formals take? We typically ask for about 60-90 minutes after the ceremony to take care of all posed photography. We will generally start at the church, getting family and large group photography out of the way in the first 15-25 minutes, then move to another location with only the bridal party, getting some fun group photos which generally takes 20-30 minutes, and then spending 15-20 minutes with the newly married couple alone. However, this can be shortened, lengthened, or removed entirely to fit your needs on your day.

How long before I get my proofs? You will have your proof book in hand and your private gallery online within 4-6 weeks of your wedding date.

How do I view my proofs? Every package comes with a high quality 8×10 spiral bound proof book that we will deliver to you. Upon receiving your proof book, you will also get a unique password that allows you to see a gallery on our website of your proofs that you may share with your friends.

How do I order my photos? We will give you a proof book that you may keep, as well as have all of your images on our website in a private gallery. You’ll be provided with order forms and you may either mail them to us, or give us your order via email or phone.

Do I get a cd of my images? Yes. Every wedding package comes with a DVD that has 4×6 print-ready photos that you may print as many of as you wish! You’ll receive a letter and the DVD will come equipped with a read me file giving you full copy right release to print the images. However, for images larger than 4×6 (i.e. 5×7, 8×10, etc.) we ask that you order through us, so we can ensure you’re getting the highest possible quality prints!

What is all day coverage? We’ve noticed several couples have the impression that all day coverage caps off at a certain time (8 hours, 10 hours, etc.). When we say all day coverage, we mean it! We’ll be there as early as you want and stay as late as you want (Even if it means a 7am hair appointment and not leaving the reception hall until midnight… oh yes, it’s happened!)

What is Trash the Dress? Trash the dress shoots are one of our absolute favorite wedding package add-ons.  This shoot, typically done shortly after the wedding, is done with the newly married couple, or the bride alone, as a symbolic way of saying “I’ll never need to wear this dress again.” Couples elect to do their shoots in a variety of locations, including water parks, bowling alleys, climbing trees, rollerblading, Harley-riding, 4-wheeling, fixing cars, getting dirty… whatever you’re into! Essentially, get back into the wedding finery and BE YOURSELF! The result are some of the most fun, and most unique wedding images you’ll have out of your whole package.  Despite the name, most brides do not trash their dress. Some will get a bit dirty, but nothing compared to a night of dancing during the reception, and nothing a trip to the dry-cleaners can’t correct. What comes with the Engagement Session? Each engagement session comes with 3 poses. Of those three, you get an 8×10 of two of them, two 5×7’s and 8 wallets of each, and a full resolution digital copy of one (i.e. the newspaper photo). For those whose weddings we are doing also, we provide a complimentary customized guest book with many of the photos from your engagement shoot, telling the story!

Albums? Our albums are top quality, flush mount, with a variety of cover material and colors. Sizes range from 6×6 to 12×12, and every size in between. Albums come standard with every wedding package, and are customized in shape, size, color, and content, to match you!

How can I get a discount? We have several opportunities for you to get discounts on your packages. First is coming to any of the area bridal shows we participate in (The Modern Bride Expo at The Centre, The Courier & Press Wedding and Prom Showcase at the Centre, and the 4H Ultimate Bridal Expo). We offer discounts for couples who book us at the show. Second, and most popular, is taking advantage of our partnership with Saxman DJ Services. For booking both of us together, we offer 10% off the photography package, and he offers 10% off his dj services. And last, of course, all returning customers receive 10% off of every future package (i.e. family shoots, maternity, baby photos, etc.)

How many photographers will be at my wedding? All of our packages come standard with two photographers. Occasionally, depending on the size of the event, we will bring along assistants, as well, with your permission.

Do you travel? Why yes we do! Depending on the location, we may require you cover our gas and/or lodging expenses.
